Soaps: History of Origin to Modern Era

It's a regular day but a good day to keep your hands clean and to be safe with your health and assets. Soaps! By the proven tests, we know that, it kills the virus and there are Major Certified Credentials to back that up. Though it fascinates us, especially in this pandemic, I thought somewhat different, which made me to share this with you.

Origin of soap

There are various conspiracy flowing around the world how people invented the soap, some says it's an act of god and some says it was an accident event. We will talk about the conspiracy first as this will drive our interest more than the actual one.

First conspiracy

This event took place later before Jesus born. A great lake in the Tibetan coast washed the mountain soil along with the animal fats into the lake. Later when the groups a woman came to along the shore of the lake to wash the clothes they found soapy substance. They used them to wash clothes and it yielded better results than the traditional soda(soil) they use.

Second conspiracy

Some countries in Europe, the middle east, started to use animal fats, plant extracts and water to prepare soap for washing clothes, which later established into a huge market.

Actual findings

Babylons were the first to invent bio-degradable soaps in 2800 B.C which comes with the wooden box and this was used to bath only by the kings and the higher official people. They use to bath with soaps only 2 times a week rest with the plant extract oil, to which they pour the water while boiling.

Ingredients

Modern-day soaps are prepared with chemical contents causing allergies and skin diseases. Old age soaps were manufactured using vegetable oil, wood ash, animal fats, and plant extracts which were used by doctors those days to prevent themselves from causing disease.

Modern-day soap uses Sodium hydroxide(NaOH) and potassium hydroxide(KoH) which causes adverse effects on humans. Effects of NaOH include respiratory problems, skin allergies and oesophagus diseases. However, safety levels of adults are below(0.5%, 0.125M) as per NCBI documents, yet it also causes eye irritation on humans. KoH adversaries are Irritation of eyes, nose, throat if inhaled, Also leads to pulmonary edema and cancer if exposed more. Hydroxide families replaced the plant extracts in olden days. They were found in crystalline form on the coast of Hungary and called szekso.

The invention of artificial soda

While the people started to use the soaps raw materials from the Hungary which were formed by the volcanic eruptions started to decline. French Empire King Louis XVI conducted an open competition to invent artificial soda, prize money is around 2400 books. Books were given as prize money as education grew rapidly at that moment. However, Nicholas Leblanc found the real solution in 1787 and shared with the king. This made his kingdom to fall as napoleon started a war with french after hearing this invention.

Market establishment

Initially, markets were established by the middle east who settled in Europe(particularly in the parts of Italy and the UK), They started a small business in their homes where they used the plant extracts. After the invention of the artificial soda by the french empire industries started to bloom which created heavy taxes for them as they are considered as one of the luxurious items used by humans. There were many companies started first of them are pears(by Frans pears) in 1851(awarded) and 1852 in isle worth. By 1830 alkali company and followed by R.S hudgon company in Liverpool where they later joined with laver brothers in 1908.

Taxes

Companies use to pay about 4 Pounds for every ton they manufacture, which increased the prize of each soap by 10% extra. In 1712 Queen Anne reduced the tax based on the companies production. (i.e) if a company shows the highest production as 5 ton for a day whole across the year. They need to pay 5 pounds.

Doctors view

As soap was made from alkaline-based extracts. when rubbed with hands the protein layer of the virus damages thereby causing these extracts to get into the virus which finally kills them. This is why WHO instructs to wash your hands with soaps.

Soil fertility rate

Soil consumes all the materials we throw but it takes some time. Soil characteristics are also the same as humans and animals. If we consume unhealthy foods it results in health issues, it is also same with plants and trees. we are affecting our health indirectly by affecting the soil. Before the British stepped into India we use mud to wash and clay to bath. Muds were extracted during the summer season and stored. After a period we use Shikakai which also acts as one of the nutrients to the soil.

Avoid using chemical soaps instead use soaps made of coconut oil extracts which is mildly fertile to soil. We are from Nature and We are to nature. Say Yes to natural process, which is reversible whereas industry process cannot.
