Unnoticed World Events and Facts -- A Side Effects of Corona Pandemic
Introduction
A
pandemic or epidemic will put the world upside down and it stays that
way. The World will take it's time to get adjust but when it does, like
human, during it's fight to survive, it causes a various side effects
over everything. Some we see on our daily lives, some we may hear from
others and some we never heard of, but there are some unnoticed events
to which we've never given the benefit of doubt to know about it. Chillax! In
here, you'll find the most 10 facts and events that occurred in this
Covid Pandemic which majorly gets unnoticed yet arguably holds the key
for survival.
These are the major facts and events happened in this pandemic that went under our radar!
1. Home birth rate
According to statistics it is proven that there is drastic change in home birth rate. ACOG says,
there were only 1% of the total population was born in home and that
too it was an unexpected birth pain experienced by women's. During this
pandemic pregnant women were afraid to delivery, as hospitals in US are
filled with covid patients only a single person is allowed to visit the
pregnant women which reduces her will power heartly. Later this was also
reduced and no one were allowed to see the patient. During pregnancy
even her husband/mother is allowed to the ward as they may get affected
by blood diseases. ICMR has provided some guidance for pregnant women's.
Hearing
all these news lines they get afraid and they are planning to give
birth their child at home, Experts say that Women's can give birth at
home if proper care were provided by the elderly or it is their second
pregnancy. No risks should be taken for 1st time birth givers and those
who have twins which results in danger. .
Concluding
here if you/people around you are seen pregnant ask them to proceed
with the plan what they have chosen before this pandemic. Avoid
unnecessary risks. ACOG still believes that giving birth at hospitals
are far better than homes and they can quickly sorted if in case of any
medical emergencies.
2. The Richie Rich
As we all know due to covid-19 breakout people are losing jobs all over the world, according to the U.S bureau of labor statistics nearly 40 millions citizens had lost their job and you know what!, world's richest men Jeff Bezos earned $48.6 Billion amid this pandemic, As we all know the one of the famous Telecom giant Reliance Jio founder Mukesh Ambani even moved as 5th most richest person in the world.

Due
to this pandemic government around the world make changes to lift off
the mid and low level people and the Americans are not even prepared for
a $400 medical emergency. The changes made by the government are
abruptly utilized by the richest person to gain market charges and they
become rich further. These business people are also protected by payback programs.
According to Business Insider report
Amazon paid only 1.2%($162 millions) tax amount to the US in 2019 and
before that they even didn't paid a penny. If there are no consideration
in tax amount amazon would have paid more than the financial budget of
the U.S.
3. Home Gardening
Caging
an animal does affects it's mental behaviour especially when it was
free in field. We humans were never any less. The adaptive learning
present in human nature helps us in quarantine to learn, how to keep
ourselves stress free and a calm mind. Many like, developing new skills,
dusting the lost passion, being with family and such. But Home
Gardening is something we cared less and ignored, which is a great in
stress relief and it became a small business to support the survival. It
was backed up by a Magazine editor, Jamie Calder from Chicago, says
"it's a supplementary gardening. There's no way this would sustain a
family of five but it reduces the need to go to store" Her family
collared greens, chard, watermelon, blackberry and pepper plants.
4. AI vs Face Recognition
We live in a day to safeguard ourselves from the corona virus and people need to wear mask as per the recommendations form WHO but,
have you ever tried of unlocking your phone while wearing a face mask.
It fails!! Apple and other tech giants are currently working to resolve
this.
While
speaking about Face recognition we can't neglect China as they stand
top of the hill. Masks covers up to 50% of our face but by the use of AI
and ML they are able to get the full image. This methods can also be
adopted for large scale community. Alipay(one the major third-party payment application) started to scan faces for payment in local shops.
Even
developed countries like japan and America are trying to solve this
puzzle but some EU countries and china did this challenging job. Some
parts of China are back to normal and they now use facial recognition
instead of bio-metric to get rid of corona virus and what's the curious
part is if anyone does not wear a mask the device scans and ask him/her
to wear a mask for scanning and to start this day in office.
My
Question here is when summer approaches, we still need to wear mask and
cooling glasses and at that time this device even works fine like today
showing a accuracy of 93.5% as per NIST.
5. Recycling Waste for Protective Gears
When
the WHO officially declared that Covid 19 is a pandemic situation, the
protective gears demand went sky high. According to the journal
Waste360, the recycling of the waste plastics into mask, face shield and
gloves saw an unsurprising growth and it is one of the few organization
that yield better profit and growth in this pandemic. The ban of
plastic in India and America didn't affect the resource of raw material
from waste but the demand for protective soon will increase.
The
survey also suggests the waste haulers growth was higher than the waste
management organization. When compared with the organizations that are
affected by covid with non affected, waste haulers and the management
provided a significant job opportunities to the people. The WHO foresees
the production of masks and gears meet the allowed norms which does not
affects a humans health. One must not forget, when all this gets over,
the actual purpose of banning the plastic will never meet it's results
and it may take longer than we anticipates it.
6. Stray Dogs Starvation
Street
dogs are very common all over the globe, especially in dense human
habit places. Currently India holds the 1st place for most no. of stray
dogs with over 30 million following China with 27.4 million. As we know
these dogs survival were most depend on the dumpster and the people
who feed them. But this quarantine made us to break our habit and one
lead to another, human's garbage disposal, diner, restaurant, things
that aided these dogs their survival started to dim. A survey result
issued by Pune Times says that, on the 1st week of lock-down 1.0 around 30
dogs were died due to starvation in India. The death ratio was
increasing untill the lock-down.0
Various
volunteers from major NGO's like VIVA, Prani Seva Sanstha, People for
Animals, Red Paw Rescue were providing the needs they can but the
lock-down took a heavy toll on them and it drags the help for these
dogs.
It is not yet concluded by any survey that took place, the death due to
starvation was decreased but the help for dogs came along the way and
the rescuers claims that they were able to save them.
7. Insurance Policies doesn't cover for Covid 19
From
my point of view I personally advice the Delhi based Indian government
steps are more easy to maintain even in densely populated countries. We
sincerely thank you both those government who are taking steps to get
rid of the pandemic unemployment situation.
Globally,
the medical field is doing their best they can in fighting the virus.
The health insurance companies follow a strict standards and that is,
not to cover the cost of Covid treated patient. When protested against
it, they reveal,
When a epidemic or a pandemic is declared by WHO the health insurance policies won't to available.
When a new policy was applied or took during the pandemic occurance.
But it is said, A 24 hour hospitalization is applicable for every policy holders.
8. Idle Position of Vehicles
Everyone
who knows about the vehicles does know that, keeping them idle for
longer time creates major problems like dried tyres, rusting over
chassis, components seizing. But only a mechanic and the craze for
vehicles personals know the minor or ignored issues that happens when a
vehicle is kept still for greater period, that is braking plates will
get stiff and locks themselves with the blades and to disconnect the
battery.
When
a vehicle is kept to sit for a longer period usually in an ambient
places, moisture will become a villain in degrading the parts. It will
form over two main things' but we are not aware of them. One is the
braking components will get jammed along with its plates and over time
the performance will greatly reduce. The other is the battery, it is
said by the moto experts, a vehicle battery must be disconnected in
order to avoid losing its voltage. This happens when the moisture starts
to form over the battery terminals. It eludes the voltage into
atmosphere to disperse, some may find a static current when they touch
the car since when act as grounding and the tyres act as an isolator.
9. Strive for employment
While
the government levies heavy on poor ad mid salaried people, countries
around the globe have made several many digital schemes like creating a
job portal website, providing low interest rate loans to the start ups,
rental discounts on industrial areas maintained by government. but still
government needs tax to run this nation forward and organize various
welfare related schemes.
As we all know people around the world had loosing jobs due to covid-19 some beneficial activities are from the government side,
Delhi state government with his own -initiative created a website to post and get jobs named as rojgar-bazaar.
This website started around 1 week back and received a response even
the Delhi- government has not taught. It received about 3.22 lakh
response from public and around 2.5 lakhs of jobs were posted as per livemint report. This should be implemented to every nook and corner of the globe for the benefits of people as we are into new-normal.
EU countries
have implemented some strategic ideas as they have more funds they
thought of providing it to the start ups if they are facing any
financial issues, according to the reports by the IMF
Eu provided nearly 70% of the employee form the government stack and
the
remaining 30% has to be paid the respective owners of the company.
Companies cannot force employees to get rid of job during this crisis if
they find any they are penalized. This is the thing EU countries are
facing low unemployment rate even during this pandemic.
10. Travelling a dream during pandemic?
Of course Not!! Countries like Abu Dhabi, UAE, GDP are depending upon the tourism.
They are now opened for tourism and they have some superstitious tech
like detecting your temperature while walking and so on and there is no
quarantine period if you are normal. This may sound outrageous to some
personal. If you are a travelling person let us put forward some points
for you regards with safety.
- The first and foremost is to wear a mask properly by covering your nose and to maintain social distancing.
- According to ISTM(International Society for Travel Medicine), Stay far away from restrooms as they might be more vulnerable.
- It's not necessary to wear gloves instead wash your hands after touching anything particularly door knob, if wireless entry is not provided.
- Do
not get panic when you get sick or catch up with corona. If you are an
frequent traveller you will get cure pretty fast as you must have
developed immunity.
- It is better to cook by yourself. Do not use room service frequently.
Conclusion
Adaption is the major strength of our human species in survival, we will know we are strong enough to survive the inevitable, when being strong is the only choice we have. Every pandemic our human race ever encountered in it's era, it gave a key for survival, In our Digital Era, social media will definitely provides us the survival key when it's rightly used.
