The Bio-Aid for Everyday

People used  to have a past life and present life, but the Coronavirus has changed a lot. Yes, sitting at home and working, ordering foods and takeout or take in (bit of ironic) have become a new face. People have been slowly forced to use every single piece of plastic against being affected. True, they reduce in spreading Covid-19 strains but, we are creating an enemy parallelly. We have been using it in the name of the coronavirus. Hoping this should be back to normal as it were before Coronavirus(B.C). Here we present the Best biodegradable products that humans should use in their daily life.

1. Edible Spoon from Pineapple waste

We are already famous with the edible spoon and plates which are made out of wafer. There's an alternative for them too. Edible Spoons out of bio waste. They make spoons and plates out of pineapple waste.

One of the chief that manufactures Edible spoons and cups are Lifepack (Colombian based company)

2. Biodegradable Coconut Straw

Straws have been The Biting Bullet for environment degradation. An average American spends about 33000 straws in his entire lifetime which approximately covers 7kms taking 8.5inches of straw as a standard length.

Bio-degradeable Straw

Luckily a professor from Christ University Bangalore has started to manufacture Biodegradable straws made from coconut leafs. We might think there is already a solution available to this Paper straw. Yes it has, but the chemicals used in them to hold its posture longer in liquid(Max. 30Min), does have some negative health effects on our body. This straw derived from coconut can stay in water for up to 6 hrs. These straws are manufactured by housewife villagers in Madurai and Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India.

 3. The Biodegradable Plastic cover

Logistics and transportations plays an important role in our daily needs. Either it's a raw material or a processed food (any material). It needs to packed perfectly and shipped to the end customer without negligence/ damages. Bubble wraps, stretch films, air sealed vacuum bags plays a predominant role. They protect the material from being damaged. But the main problem is they stay in the environment for decades if poorly disposed method is practiced. These plastics cause harmful to water living creatures and causes cancer when consumed by humans.

Dissolving plastic

With the evolution of nanotechnology a woman from Israel found a solution to this problem by dissolving these plastics waste into water within minutes. The main advantage is humans can consume the same water. This is a proven technique and as of now it has no AoD.

Name of the Company: Solutum

4. Biodegradable Pads

With the modernization of industry and most of our parents are becoming more workaholic they don't have enough time to take care of their children and themselves. They simply wear pads during periods and diaper to their toddler. Back then, neither of them were practiced (has its good/bad effect). Wearing diapers all the day through creates raches on the waist, and it also adds weight around the baby.

Cotton diaper

It doesn't stop here even it creates landfills. A normal baby utilizes around 7000 diapers in their childhood, and it nearly disposes half a ton from it. Avoid using diapers and start using diapers that are made of cotton clothes which doesn't create rashes and landfills.

For women's who use napkins try to use biodegradable waste napkins from SaathiPads (made from banana leafs) or else use menstrual cups which helps in minimizing the landfill. Every individual should participate in order to reduce landfill.

Menstrual cups saves 36 napkins per year.

5. Wallets, Umbrella and Rope

Wallets umbrella are always tied with us lifestyle. They usually get manufactured from animal leather or from synthetic processed materials called rexine. Those artificial leathers used in manufacturing purse and umbrella creates landfill. Malai biomatics from Kerala. They manufacture them from Coconut trees extracts. Kerala's gods own country is creating miracle with coconut trees.

Coconut wallets

These wallets may not be a fancy one but, Malai guarantee that it would degrade in less than 90 days if thrown away. People should consider buying this from their website.

6. Biodegradable clothes

One of the greatest inventions in our list. We never ever thought of that, a wrinkle free fabric would be biodegradable. These guys are the best example for inventions. They have a list of products in their websites. All products are biodegradable. Even they reduced the usage of chemicals in their manufacturing process. One of the unique thing that I like from them is they didn't use plastic buttons instead they use some specialized buttons. Freitag means sustainability, once we are done with the product we can dispose them into the environment after unscrewing the buttons with our bare hands. A fabric that travels 2500kms to get into the finalized one.

7. Watches and  sunglasses

It is one of our daily essential in our modern day life. These essential have modified into fitness trackers and bunching up with a lot of electronics and modes in it. But people are still a fan of vintage models which fulfills their happiness. Modern day watches are made from artificial leathers whereas the frames of the glasses are made from plastics. Wewood and Pelavision are in the mission of biodegradable. Like said they don't look fancy but still it gets your job done at the end of the day.

8. The best alternative

We humans are very fond of plastic. We start using them right from our childhood till our death. Humans degrade faster than the plastic they used in their childhood. This needs to be changed sooner. We try to eliminate plastic at one part of time, but somehow it gets carried away.

The chairs, shoes should be quickly renowned into biodegradeable once their life ends. Scientists, Researchers and students from various universities around the world are trying to figure it out. But, a company named Ecovative has successfully turned out our ideas in real. Yes, they manufacture chairs, shoes and all other stuffs using fungus and mushrooms with the help of a 3D printer. We might think of 3D printer generated heat and fungus does like them. They make the material astonished and I hope it will give goosebumps.

Mushroom Chair

The fungus and mushrooms which we considered as waste at one time lend their hands in helping us find the best alternative to plastic. These are the top 8 biodegradable products which can replace things in our daily life. There are more companies out there who invent groundbreaking biodegradable products but,  we find those companies as a perfect example, and we try to explore them in our blog without any intention of earning via advertising. Companies are named only for their invention.

Poornichefacts does not promote or gain fund from these companies. It's entirely readers responsibility to figure out things and buy nature friendly products. Images shown here are for representation purpose only. Images are sourced from Flickr, the whole credits goes to the photographers.
